As the new intern at Magnet PR I paid a visit to Sparkle Cupcakery in Surry Hills last week. The first thing I noticed upon entering is that this is no ordinary “cutesy” cupcakery. The store is sleek, modern and hip which fits in perfectly with the Surry Hills vibe.
With 16 mouth-watering flavours to choose from, you can imagine my predicament. As a self-confessed chocolate lover, naturally I decided on the Milk Chocolate cupcake, cliché... maybe, but no regrets here! The Belgian chocolate cake and frosting was moist and really hit the spot. What I also found impressive was the packaging. The cupcakes are packaged in stylish black paper bags with the silver Sparkle logo, which gives a fashionable twist to an already extraordinary cupcakery.
On the 10th March, Sparkle Cupcakery will be officially launching a new book titled, “Sparkle Cupcakes: The Little Black Book” and personally, I cannot WAIT to get my hands on a copy. The book features gourmet cupcake recipes from Valentine’s Day cupcakes to NYC cupcakes, minimalist decorating techniques, and handy hints for styling. Following the modern and fashion-forward concept of the store, the book will introduce to its audience a new world that has been discovered through the art of cupcake making, where cupcakes really are the ‘LBD’ (Little Black Dress) of the foodie world.
My suggestion? When you need a little luxury in your life, celebrate with a delicious cupcake from Sparkle Cupcakery www.sparklecupcakery.com.au
Book available through most good bookstores around Australia and the Sparkle store (132 Foveaux St, Surry Hills) as of March 1, 2011
