Wedding Photos by an Argentine

From the bright lights of the sexy city of Buenes Aires, Esteban La Tessa learnt from a young age that he could capture the quiet beauty of a chaotic city.

After a successful photographic career in Germany, Esteban migrated to Australia in 2004 and was drawn to Australia's natural beauty and landscapes.

His main sphere and expertise remains in Weddings, Corporate and Events photography. We at Magnet have worked with Esteban for many of our red carpet media events but here are some of his recent engagement and wedding photos.

You can see more of his photos on his website www.estebanlatessa.com

A walk through Bris-vegas

So this year I spent Christmas with family in the tropical state’s capital of Brisbane where unfortunately ‘the sunshine state’ slogan is not happening! We feel for plenty of people who are homeless through the floods and hope the rain stops soon.

Alas, it is nice to watch Brisbane grow from a backward country town where I grew up hanging out at Club LQ in the Queens Street Mall and drinking beer upstairs at Jo-Jo’s to an up and coming city which I love to visit. There has also been an emerging trend of my Sydney friends visiting Brisbane for a visit and ringing me to rave about their experiences.

So upon my explorations, here are a couple of places I have come across. I have an older brother who resides in Brisbane and has finally found a love of fine wine and foods so he introduced me to the Black Pearl Epicure, a wholesale and retail fine foods business also runs great cooking school classes www.blackpearl.com.au  was the perfect spot to grab some last minute Christmas treats. What are delicious cheeses without some real French bread? Afterwards, head into boulangerie and patisserie, Chouquette www.chouquette.com.au  in the heart of New Farm, you will not be sorry!

For lunch or dinner I highly recommend stoping in at Tartufo, restaurant & bar, Tony Percuoco’s (ex Fellini, Gold Coast) new spot in the Emporium hotel for some classic Italian food www.tartufo.com.au

Now if you have some cash and feel like splurging on designer shoes or accessories, Jean Brown next door to Tartufo has an exquisite selection of designer gear for Women, www.jeanbrown.com.au and there are plenty of other stores in the same complex. If you want something a bit more affordable, head to James Street where one will find Sass and Bide etc.. and the most gorgeous classic parfumerie I have ever seen in Australia, Libertine www.libertineparfumerie.com.au  alongside the Palace Cinemas if one fancy’s a foreign flick.

Enjoy Bris-vegas, till next time! Kim xx

WRAP UP ON 2010 ULTIMATE WEDDING PLANNING PARTY!!

The 2010 Ultimate Wedding Planning Party was a night to remember!! We had over 300 brides gather at the beautiful Opera Point Marquee to get the latest tips from the best of the bridal industry.

The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as guests enjoyed delicious Opera Point canapés and sipped on Jansz & Crown Lager, all while mingling with bridal experts such as Letterbird Lane and being pampered by the beauty gurus at Jo Malone & Bobbi Brown.

We had fantastic speakers that included Graham Monro (GM Photographics), Amy Erbacher (Amy Erbacher Beauty), Anthony Del Col (Staging Connections) and Mark Baulderstone (Riedel) who provided these brides-to-be with useful advice for their upcoming special day.

Look at these gorgeous pictures below, taken by the talented Esteban La Tessa…

Guests were also treated to a fashion show of the latest bridal collections from Amsale & Steven Khalil, along with some fun-loving men suited up in M.J. Bale.

Here are some of my favourite bridal pictures from the event…

Gorgeous models in Amsale bridal gowns

Steven Khalil & models wearing Steven Khalil

Male models in M.J. Bale

Model wears Steven Khalil Academy Awards style glamour gown - A latte tone, fully sequinned gown with crinoline through the hem

Model wears Steven Khalil 50's inspired gown in the 2010 collection - Mid-calf length with a cinched waist bodice

Model wears Amsale Bali Gown - shown in blush, also available in ivory. This gown is stunning for a bride who wants a low back and beautiful french lace detail.

Model wears Amsale Bijou wedding gown - simple and stunning witha d rop waist and large hand made flower detail around the skirt. This is for a confident bride that wants to make an entrance.

Bridesmaids dresses can be difficult to find for everyone to feel fabulous in. Amsale has a range of different fabrics and cuts that can be paired with each other so each maid feels comfortable and vibrant.

Some lucky ladies left with some fabulous door-prizes that included a wedding cake by Planet Cake (www.planetcake.com.au),  dinner for two at Pink Salt (www.pinksalt.com.au), $500 worth of Santos Wish jewellery (www.santoswish.com), a $500 Goddess Lingerie voucher (www.goddessbra.com), and finally the GRAND PRIZE… a luxurious trip for two to Fiji, staying at the Likuliku Resort (www.likulikulagoon.com) thanks to Coral Seas (www.coralseas.com.au).

The party kicked on until 10pm and our lovely lucky guests were spoilt even further, leaving with overflowing gift bags worth over $500 with fantastic goodies from Riedel, Mandalay Flowers, Guylian, Bvlgari, Jo Malone and Bobbi Brown.

Until next time....
